Literary Interpretations - Early Modern (Renaissance and Enlightenment)

Early Modern – 16th to 18th Century.

Early Modern is a broad classification that encompasses the Renaissance and the Enlightenment period.  There is renewed interest in Greek theory alone with the use of cultural vernacular or native language.  It was the fusion of Greek ideas with modern interpretations.  Poetry was held in esteem in its ability to conjure deeper and more emotive meaning.  The use of native languages inspired the growth of national literary ideals.
