  • Those attributes that function as Charms; that is, charms are not necessarily part of the message, but they draw viewers attention to the art object.   
  • Attributes that act as desire; those objects that gratify our wants and have a tendency to bias our appreciation of an art object.
  • Attributes aligned with Nature; those objects in nature we believe to be pleasing.

Secret:  A thing revealed, but not shared.

Mystery:  A thing not revealed

  • A mode of thought that solves everyday problems, large or small.
  • Works in conjunction with stored memory, faith, dream, myth and reason.
  • The forge of human understanding and expression.
  • Is engaged by the unknown and how far one is willing to stretch their imagination.
  • Conventional thought associates with flashes of great insight, or the ability to form and generate unique communications.

  • A communication.  The strength of which is determined by:
    • The quality of the expression or idea.
    • The quality of the craft.
  • The best art allows someone:
    •  To look beyond their self,
    •  Experience something from the perspective of another,
    • To be touched by their spirit. 


Culture

Culture
  • The cultivation of human natural capacities.
    • Cultivation of the mind.
    • Learning of art, music and philosophy.
  • The intellectual and imaginative products of such cultivation.
  • The way of life of a group or a society.
    • The complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law custom, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society
    • Socially constructed and historically transmitted network of symbol systems and ideas.
