Stylistic Analysis

Stylistic Analysis:
·      Refers to the resemblance of works of art have to one another.
·      There must be enough visual elements for a style to develop.
o   One Cathedral cannot define a style.
o   A style cannot define an individual Cathedral.
·      Elements can include:
o   Visual.
o   Feel
o   Narratives
o   Shared ideas or meaning.
·      Styles are identified after a period of time.
o   There is a caution that:
§  Cultural pairings can be associated with style.

§  Meaning can be derived from modern interpretations rather than the intent of the time.
